Mrs. Alma Mary Duggins, age 96, of Rio Concho Manor in San Angelo, passed away at Angelo Community Hospital January 30, 2003. Daughter of the late Fred and Ida Stork Ernst, Mrs. Duggins was born November 17th 1906 in McDade, TX. She married Edgar Straach in Rowena TX. in February of 1925. In 1950 Mrs. Duggins married Samual Duggins. She had lived in Coleman County since 1953 up until 1996 when she moved to San Angelo. She was a retired housewife and member of the First United Methodist Church of Coleman. Funeral services will be graveside on Sunday at 2 PM with the Rev. Kermit Sorrells officiating and burial to follow at the Protestant Cemetery in Rowena TX under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6-7 PM. Mrs. Duggins is survived by a sister Anita Thorn of San Angelo, a daughter-in-law Bobbye Straach of Coleman, a sister-in-law Theo Ernst of San Angelo, and several nieces and nephews including Doris Wendland who Mrs. Duggins held quite special. Also surviving are grandchildren Eric Straach of Coleman; Cheryle Caldwell of San Antonio; Carol Gordon of Manchaca; Celeste Stappenbeck of San Antonio; Melissa Mills of Decatur, AL; Cindy Owens of Iraan, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter Mrs. Evelyn Shriver and one son Murle Straach, two brothers, Fred and Henry Ernst, as well as both of her husbands. Pallbearers will be Eric Straach, Gary Mills, James Owens, Roland Caldwell, Roy Gordon, and Rudy Stappenbeck.
