Coleman, Texas Newspaper

     Mrs. Mattie Kile, wife of J.F. Kile, died at the home of her son, P.L. Calhoun, on Commercial Avenue at an early hour yesterday morning. Mrs. Kile had been seriously ill for several days, and all possible was done to relieve her suffering. She was born in Mississippi August 2nd, 1866, coming to Coleman County in 1905. Mrs. Kile was a member of the Baptist Church about 50 years, and everyone loved her for her beautiful character.
     Burial was in Santa Anna June 20, 5 p.m. Services were conducted by Rev. J.R. McCorkle at the cemetery. She is survived by her husband, J.F. Kile of Coleman, and children, O.W. Calhoun, Valera; A.D. Calhoun, Cross Plains; P.L. Calhoun, Coleman; E.A. Calhoun, Cross Plains; J.F. Kile, Ozona; Mrs. Lizzie Montgomery, Georgetown; Mrs Emily Crabb, Coleman; Mrs. Alice Dubois, Valera; and Mrs. Lavonia Redding, Coleman. Two children, Charlie Gordon and Lydia Calhoun, preceded her in death. She is also survived by 27 grand children and 11 great grand children. One brother, J.A. Reed of Goldthwaite, was here during her illness and death.
     Pallbearers were grandsons: Perry Crab, Frank Montgomery, J.H. Montgomery, Ira C. Dubois, Wesley Kile, Glen Vaughn, Luther Kile and Odie Calhoun.
     All children were present.
     Funeral arrangements by Mead Morticians.
     The Kile family were members of Coleman Burial Association and Mrs. Kile's son, P.L. Calhoun was given a check for $150.00.
