Lena Mary Pitts, 98

Graveside services for Lena Mary Pitts, 98, of Coleman, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, July 27 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman. Mrs. Pitts died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Merkel Nursing Center in Merkel. She was born July 6, 1905, in Pioneer, a daughter of the late Lee and Lillie Hale Davis. She had been a resident of Coleman since 1917. Lena married William Henry Pitts on June 23, 1920, in Pioneer. They celebrated 55 years of marriage. William preceded her in death in 1976. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church and was retired from the Coca Cola Bottling Company and was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter, Ruby Kile of Coleman; sister, Lillie Curtis of Anson; brother, Claude Davis of Midland; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
