Mr. Kile was born June 5, 1844 in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. He settled in Williamson County, Texas in 1852. From Bell County he moved to Coleman in 1890.
He served in the Confederate Army 16 months with Ford's expedition to the Rio Grande with Captain Theodore Anderson.
In the community where he lived so long, he was affectionately known as Grandpa Kile and throughout the county had many friends and relatives, who will have the sympathy of Coleman County in their bereavement.
Coleman, Texas Paper, 27 February 1930.
John Wesley Kile is buried at Santa Anna Cemetery, Santa Anna, Texas.
