John Taylor McQueen was born 14 February 1827 in Cheraw, Chesterfield District, South Carolina and died 20 March 1899 in Houston County, Texas. He was the son of Robert McQueen and Cecilia Ellerbe. He married Eliza Ann Diggs 8 November 1849 in Kemper County, Mississippi . She was born 28 September 1833 in Anson County, North Carolina and died about 1873 in Brazos County, Texas. She was the daughter of Garland Diggs and Jane. John next married Nancy Ann Wicker. She was born 4 October 1859 and died 28 October 1937 in Coleman County, Texas. She was the daughter of John A. Wicker and Emma.
