Know all men by these presents that whereas Ed Kaufman of Galveston county said state did on the 25th day of January AD 1887 bargain and sell to Terry Gossett a certain Mill and Machinery fixtures to and also and one wagon and oxen to same property conveyed to JW Gregg to L & H Bluno as a security for indebtedness to them by him and whereas said Trade has been cancelled by the said Ed Kaufman and Terry Gossett. Now therefore I Ed Kaufman of said Galveston county said state do hereby bargain sell and convey unto J.T & WT McQueen the said J.W. Gregg saw mill and machinery fixtures --* situated about 8 miles north of Crockett said machinery was particularly described as follows "to wit" Hollabied stationery engine and Boiler and all fixtures thereto attached & Log Wagons three yoke of oxen with yokes and chains & the set of Blacksmith tools and one extra Saw unit also all the interest that JW Gregg hath in and to the Kerby and Kirkpatrick surveys also the mill seat and use of the houses in the Mill seat for the period of the -------- Nov 1st 1884 for which --- in consideration of some said JT & TW McQueen ----- to deliver to said Ed Kaufman or agent 400,000 feet of good first class rough lumber the same to be delivered on the ---- at Greggs Switch with payments as follows to wit" 245,000 feet of lumber each month beginning the 15th day of December AD 1884 and to be delivered on the 15th day of each month and it is further stipulated and agreed that they shall pay in addition to the 245,000 feet one half of the lumber that is cut over 80,000 feet per month and to secure the payment of said machinery is above stated the said JT & WT McQueen agree to give as lein on all the said machinery & property above described and received from said Ed Kaufman and this instrument is intended to create & retain as lein on said above described property it is understood and agreed that the purchasers are to pay and deliver to above stipulated 245,000 of lumber per month and on the event that they should cut over 80,000 feet per month they shall pay in addition to the 245,000 feet as stipulated one half of any excess of such 80,000 feet for each and every month hereto excess may exist until this contract is fully paid off and discharged and in case of default in any payment as above stipulated their and in hereto event it is understood and agreed that the purchasers shall pay --- per cut as ----- defaulted payment estimating the lumber at $8.00 per 1000 feet, It is further agreed and understood that the said Kaufman will make good the title to said machinery and property against any and all claims demands or incumbrances of any kind -----------. On testimony whereof we have thereunto let our bonds this the 10th day of Nov 1887 The said Ed Kaufman acting by his agent and attorney in fact DA Gunn, In testimony whereof --- bond hereunto --- our hands this 10th day of Nov 1887

Before me AG Dunnam clerk of the county court in for Houston county Texas on this day personally appeared HG Lewiston Known to me to be the person whose name is subscribed to the forgoing instrument as a witness and after being duly sworn by me stated an oath that he saw Ed Kaufman by his atty DA Gunn John T & WT McQueen the grantors or persons who executed the forgoing instrument subscribed the same and that he had signed the ----- as a witness at the request of the persons who executed the same, ------- under my hand and seat of office at Crockett this 10th day of Nov AD 1887
