Jacob Kyle was born in 1840 in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana and died 25 July 1863 in Bandera County, Texas. He was the son of Joseph Kile and Mary "Polly" Dyches and the brother of John Wesley Kile. He married Nancy Fish 6 December 1860 in Williamson County, Texas. She was the daughter of Joseph Martin Fish and Nancy Ann Dyches.
