Gilbert Marion McIlvain
     Gilbert Marion McIlvain was born about 1831 in Kentucky.  His parentage is unknown.  He married Mary Carter.  She was born in Mississippi and died sometime during the Civil War in San Jacinto County, Texas, as did her youngest child Chester.   He married 2nd Sarah Ann Carter.  She was born 22 December 1840 in Mississippi and died 29 January 1937 in San Jacinto County, Texas.  Sarah Ann and Mary Carter were sisters and their parentage is unknown.

Gilbert Marion McIlvain and Mary Carter had the following children:
