EJ Duggins vs Jas Duggins
Divorce - Origin petition - Filed Oct 7/80
To the Hon Alexander, Judge of the ____ Judicial District of the State of Texas:
Elizabeth J Duggins complaining of Jas B Duggins represent that both plaintiff and defendant reside in the County of Bell in the State of Texas that plft and deft were inhabitants in good faith of said State and resided in the County aforementioned for more than twelve months continuously last before the bringing of this suit. That on or about the 17th day of June AD 1869 plft and deft were duly married in the State and County aforesaid and continued to live together as husband and wife till the 2nd day of August AD 1876. That during all of said time she conducted herself with propriety, managed the household affairs of her said husband with prudence and ____ and at all times treated her said husband with kindness and tolerance. That on the date last menntioned defdt left plff with the intention of abandonment and has ever since continuously refused to live with plff as his wife or contribute in any wise to her support or maintenance. Whereupon she prays that deft be cited to answer this petition and that she have judgement that the said marriage between her and deft be dissolved and for such other and further relief as she may be entitled to with costs of suit.
