Funeral services for Mrs. A. J. Crenshaw were held last Friday at Glen Cove, with Rev. Forrest Waldrop, minister of the Coleman Church of Christ, officiating. She died last Thursday at Valera, where she was visiting her son. H. T. Crenshaw, and family.
Mrs. Crenshaw was born April 8, 1868, in Grapeland, Houston county. At the time of her death, she lacked only a month of being 70 years old. She spent her early childhood in Grapeland, later marrying A. J. Crenshaw in 1881. In 1894 they moved to Coleman county. In 1911 they moved to Aransas Pass.
She is survived by her husband, A. J. Crenshaw of Aransas Pass, and five children. Mack, Virgil, Jack, Mell and H. T. Crenshaw and Mrs. Lila Barker; 24 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She has been a member of the Church of Christ for many years.
Pall bearers were Mr. Crenshaw's nephews, all brothers: Claud, Henry, Will, Lum, Earl and Glenn McQueen. Those present from a distance to attend the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Mack Crenshaw and family, Aransas Pass; Mell, Jack and Virgil Crenshaw, Mrs. Barker and two sons of Aransas Pass, Mrs. Vivian Barwick, Mrs. Crenshaw's daughter, and Mr. Barwick of Port Arthur. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Mead Furniture and Undertaking.
