Andrew J. Crenshaw

Andrew J. Crenshaw was born about 1820 in South Carolina. He was the son of Nathaniel Crenshaw and Sophia Lenderman. He married Ruth T. Joiner 1 November 1847 in Marshall County, Mississippi.

We don't know a great deal about Andrew, he is recorded in the 1850 Marshall County, Mississippi, in the same household with his brother-in-law, John Knight. Then, we find him buying 140 acres of land (northwest section of section 14) in Batesville, White County, Arkansas on 1 May 1860. After this we lose track of him, he does not appear in the 1860 census for either Mississippi or Arkansas. There is no records of what happened to Ruth, either.

The speculation is that he probably moved to Arkansas when his brother, Henry, did. Although, Henry moved to Ashley County. Anyone with any idea what happened to Andrew & Ruth please,
