Bennie Houston Kile was born 6 January 1920 in Liberty, Coleman County, Texas and died 8 July 1998 in Abilene, Taylor County, Texas. He was the son of Luther Austin Kile and Ulala Mahala McQueen. He married Lois Evelyn Halpain on 6 January 1945 in Waco, McLennan County, Texas. She is the daughter of Cleveland William Halpain and Bessie May Hall, of McLennan County, Texas. She was first married to Curtis Beasley.
He was named for his maternal grandmother Bennie Lou Crenshaw McQueen. As a young man, he worked for the WPA and helped to build a stone wall still standing in Coleman, Texas. He was a family man and worked in the oil fields in New Mexico, also served in the Army/Air Corp during World War II in the Military Police. He had worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Gandy's Creamery, and then finally retired from Ben E. Keith Co. He is buried at Brown Ranch Cemetery near Coleman, Texas.
